spica's "i'll be there" - a refreshing take on kpop

To tell you the truth, I rarely give any attention to all these rookie groups debuting now. I'm too focused on all my senior biases that I think these rookies are just gonna' flop sooner or later - no need to spend time listening to them. (HARSH!!)

But whenever I get recommendations from other people to go listen to this rookie group, I give it a try. And when I heard from someone that they really like SPICA, I decided to listen to them. I came across their song I'll Be There and instantly I'm hooked. It's on my playlist ON REPEAT!!

The song is refreshing. The vocals are really really good. BoA, the leader wearing Ss shirt, has a very smooth voice that's powerful at the same time. I can practically listen to them all day. What's really nice is that all the members can sing pretty good. Joohyun, the rapper wearing Pp shirt, has parts in between the verses. Her raps are well incorporated in the song.

The MV is made just right for my taste. Just five girls singing their hearts out, dancing, and having fun. These girls are not trying to get my attention by acting cute and doing aegyo in front of the camera. They're showing me how talented they are and how they deserve to be given recognition for being so.

Overall, I felt great listening to I'll Be There and as well as watching the MV. There's just something refreshing this song has brought to my ears after being a KPop fan for a long time. If you want to feel bright and refreshed as well, try listening to SPICA's I'll Be There. I highly recommend it too!!!

aoa to make comeback with “get out"

"FNC Entertainment has just announced that their newest girl group AOA will be making a comeback soon with “Get Out“! The girl group made their debut this past summer with their album ‘Angel’s Story‘, and have come up with a new fun concept for their upcoming return. The new song will be included in their second single ‘Wanna Be‘, which will be released October 11th." (cr. allkpop)

REACTION:

MUSIC
- Compared to their first promotional song "Elvis", I'm thinking maybe I'll like "Get Out" even more. I really like how it sounds. The beat is great and catchy. I'm already imagining it being played by the band unit! It'll be amazing! Plus check out the powerful vocals from the teaser above! Woot!

MV CONCEPT
- Yes, I get it. The single is entitled "Wanna Be" and their concept is about all these characters they wanted to copy / act out. I've been saying how random it is the first time I saw the photo above. And even as I am clearly aware now of why the photo came out to be as such, I'm still going to see it as too random. It's a unique concept but again it lacks cohesion. It's too random!!

who else thought they look like After School here?
LOOKS
- The girls look really pretty during Elvis promotions. But now, hmm... They're hard to recognize with all these changes. I have to let this out - I am not digging the looks of  Jimin and Chanmi. Just look at the photo above. They look... well... I don't know. Just not liking their looks as of the moment. But the rest of the members are okay. I especially like Choa as Elle Woods. ^^

Choa looks a little like Juniel here.
Isn't this the most awkward smile?

FINAL WORDS

So AOA is making a comeback through their second single "Wanna Be". The music of "Get Out" is promising. The beat is catchy and it definitely would be better being performed by the band unit. I think FNC is trying hard to make AOA a great girl group but sometimes their unique image can be quite confusing. I am not digging the concept just yet. I'll wait for the actual MV first then I'll say more about this. Anyway, just check out the teaser above and see for yourself.

current bias list [male edition]

I've been a KPop fan since June 2010, the date I've started watching the Korean drama "You're Beautiful". The very first Korean song I liked was FT Island's "Barae". But my first bias group is CNBLUE. That time, I was only listening to songs by these two bands. It took me a while to get myself to listen to other songs, and when I did, I was introduced to my first girl group, So Nyeo Shi Dae (Girls Generation). And then the rest is history.  ㅋ  ㅋ  ㅋ

It's been more than 2 years now and as expected, I've become more into KPop. I've acquainted myself with a lot of other groups and I've started to expand my bias list from then. So now, this post is dedicated to me grouping my thoughts together and compiling my current list of biases specifically the male ones. YoonJae-ShiWon kiss from Episode 14! ^^
I can't even start with what I'm feeling right now for this drama. This is just too good! I've never loved a drama this much before Princess Hours (Goong).

The storyline. The narration. The script. The actors. The editing. The music.

Everything is just perfectly done. The makers of this drama are geniuses.

This is just messing up with all my feelings. I'm so curious as to who ShiWon's husband is and I'm really really hoping it'll be YoonJae. Of course, with all that is happening now, people would say that it's 90% chance that the two will really end up together but... I just can't... I'm scared that these producers/writers would put a sudden twist to the story that I would feel so bad about. (*o*)

I don't like for ShiWon to end up with TaeWoong (sorry!) because they look no more than siblings to me. And although I was rooting for JoonHee-YoonJae before (yep, it's my first time to ship this type of otp!) I just fell in love with ShiWon-YoonJae couple the moment they kissed (see picture above!). I wish for JoonHee to find a partner someday but for now, I'm sorry but YoonJae has to be for ShiWon.

So now, I just happen to finish watching Episode 15 without subs (impatient much!) and I'm sooo overwhelmed by the last part. PDs trolling us viewers. LOLOLOL. Anyway, this will be a very long week of waiting for Episode 16, the last episode. And tvN already posted a video like this in their Youtube. It really makes me feel like I'm saying goodbye to this drama. T_T

OMO. I want to cry now thinking about the end. So I'll just stop blabbing now just because I can't wait for episode 15 subs to be released. Confusing thoughts. LOLOLOL.

BONUS: Check out this MV for All For You OST sang by Seo In Guk and Eun Ji for the drama. Their voices sound so perfectly in sync with each other. A musical match made in heaven! Enjoy!

If you haven't yet, well I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go and watch it now if you have the time! I'm not much of a fan of Korean dramas but this one made it to my list of to-watch shows. This is one quality Korean drama this year you shouldn't miss.
