2gether: The Series & My Fascination for Thai BL

Aside from K-Pop (and sadly the pandemic), 2020 was also a huge year for Thai Boys Love dramas or BL. Whether you prefer innocent and cute pairings or more mature and steamy romance stories, for sure there is a BL show that will match your taste.

BL is, until today, still a niche genre. While the number of people enjoying it has grown dramatically in the previous years, I do believe it still has yet to reach the same level of appreciation the majority of mainstream dramas are receiving. However, I also do admit that 2020 brought about a boom in the popularity of the genre with the biggest push coming from the release of the Thai BL 2gether: The Series.

2gether: The Series is a Thai BL television series adapted from the 2019 Thai novel by JittiRain. It told the story of Tine played by Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, a handsome student and cheerleader in college, who started a fake romantic relationship with Sarawat played by Bright Vachirawit Chiva-aree, one of the most popular guys on campus, as the former was being pursued by another guy whom he had no feelings for. The show premiered on GMM 25 and LINE TV on 21 February 2020 and had 13 episodes in total.

I debated on whether I should make a comprehensive review of this drama as I had already finished watching the series. But I opted not to last minute. To cut the story short, this series started off strong and extremely promising. I honestly would attribute it to the powerful visuals of the main couple. Sarawat is your usual cool and aloof guy while Tine is a ball of sunshine who's too pretty even in comparison to the girls in their school. I know the fake dating trope has already been used one too many times in romance dramas but seeing it again this time with two guys as the couple added a bit of charm to it.

It was a romantic comedy type of drama so the first few episodes were light and fluffy. It makes you feel giddy and wanted nothing more than for these two guys to get together as soon as possible. Tine’s sunny personality complements the coldness of Sarawat and it just makes the both of them perfect for each other.

But towards the end, the drama made a complete turn for the worse. The plot turned chaotic and left the viewers very, very frustrated with how the drama was unfolding as it nears its end. That is the extent of what I will be divulging as this is just my personal opinion. You should watch it and then decide for yourselves.

To end this post, I scoured the internet for 2gether: The Series gifs because I wanted to retain only good memories of this drama. Let's enjoy them 2gether.  😉

Blue Moon in Manila

How do I even begin this fan account? Yesterday was crazy. I was basically dragging my feet going home as I was too tired from the long day but it was all worth it. Finally seeing Jung Yong Hwa , Lee Jong Hyun , Kang Min Hyuk , and Lee Jung Shin of CNBLUE perform live in front of me is truly a dream come true. The concert was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM while gates open at 6:00 PM but I went to the venue early so I won’t have to worry about being stuck in traffic or something. I was there at around 3:00 in the afternoon and good thing the concert venue was next to shopping malls so I was just mindlessly strolling while waiting for the time. I lined up at around 4:00 PM and thankfully they opened the gates and let everyone in at exactly 6:00 PM, so I only need to stand in line for about 2 hours. Of course, it’s nothing compared to yesterday’s. While we were let into the building early, we had to wait again to enter the main coliseum where the concert will take place. It seems like...

Thai BL Actors are Taking Over the World

Hello everyone! And I am back with another post about Thai Boys Love or BL dramas. This time, I am not going to review a drama but instead, I will list down some of the Thai actors from BL shows that have caught my attention recently. I admit I haven't watched a lot of Thai BL dramas as I am mostly busy with adult life. I am lucky to have come across a few of the more well-known dramas though and it would definitely show in the list that I am about to put out. So here are my top five male actors from Thai BL dramas. #1 Singto Prachaya Ruangroj Singto was born on 28 July 1994 in Bangkok, Thailand. He rose to fame because of his role as Kongpob in SOTUS: The Series which was released in 2016. Just a side note: this BL drama is my ultimate favorite at the moment. Now going back to Singto, I have to say that there is something about him that captivates you. Frankly, he isn't the most good-looking BL actor out there and his acting skills cannot be considered brilliant just yet. Hav...
