Love Me Some Thai Guys

I'm back with another post yet again. Still on the topic of Thai Boys Love (BL) series, this time I decided to talk about my current favourite Thai BL couples. I have not watched that many BL shows yet so my list will be pretty short. But if you are into Thai BL as well, my guess is that you will be familiar with most, if not all, of the couples I will be listing. So let's begin.

I have no idea how Thai BL got so huge from the time I dabbled on my first Thai BL drama, Sotus: The Series, to this point in time. I can't really remember how I chanced upon Sotus on Youtube. I know I was just watching the most random videos on Youtube one night, like I always do. And then I think I saw a video listing down the best Thai BL dramas and randomly I chose Sotus as my first BL drama to watch. And so my life got a little bit more interesting from then on.

Before I begin my list, please note that my most important factor for liking a BL couple is their chemistry both on-screen and off-screen. And no, I am not talking about how lovey-dovey these guys should be behind the camera, that's unfair for them. What I meant is that behind the camera, I totally appreciate when they are still at ease and goofing around with each other. Like how friends are. I like people who are just casually hanging out and just being friendly. I am not a fan of skinship and fan service but I don't have anything against it as well. Some people like it, some people don't. I'm one of those people who don't appreciate it and that's fine. I feel awkward watching guy couples behind the camera who look like they'd rather be somewhere else than there. It screams insincerity and I feel bad seeing it.

Now, on with the list.

#1 Krist x Singto
Where you've seen them: Sotus: The Series, Sotus S, Our Skyy
I'm starting my list with the very first BL couple that caught my eye and ultimately ended up being my favourite BL couple as of the moment. Krist Perawat and Singto Prachaya both starred in the first BL drama I've watched Sotus: The Series. These guys are the most adorable pair, I tell you. It's amusing to watch their characters in the series constantly bickering and getting on each other's nerves. I love the character development in Sotus, it was well thought of and not rushed. I guess that's why I fell in love with these two as well. They gave justice to Arthit and Kongpob and it showed in the series. And it does not matter that they get to kiss just twice the entire series. I personally feel that their interactions and the sincerity in the way their characters' relationship progressed in the series was more than enough to make up for it. Off screen, these two are still adorable with each other. They don't seem awkward at all and I love how they're playful like how friends are. Not once did I feel like they're acting like this towards each other against their will. It made me feel at ease with their partnership. I just love them a lot.

#2 Max x Tul
Where you've seen them: Together with Me: The Series, Together with Me: The Next Chapter
So Tul Pakorn is one of my favourite Thai BL actor as of the moment and I partly attribute that to his chemistry with his on-screen partner, Max Nattapol. If you haven't seen their dramas together, well think of it as basically Sotus: The Series but like a hundred times hotter! Kidding aside, I was already flustered watching just the first episode of Together with Me: The Series. I was caught off guard by how much more sensual and physical this series is in comparison to Sotus. Of course, Sotus is the only benchmark I have right now as I haven't seen a lot of BL dramas yet. But yeah, I am just amazed at how electrifying the chemistry between Tul and Max is. There was no sign of awkwardness in their acting at all. Imagine how dedicated these two were during their acting workshops to be able to portray so convincingly the roles of Knock and Korn. Max and Tul seem under appreciated though, compared to the other BL couples out there. Maybe it's because they're not your typical boy next door / resident school bad boy type of looks. I just hope they get more recognition in the future. I heard they're working on a new BL drama together again. I'm looking forward to that already!

#3 Lay x Perth
Where you've seen them: My Engineer
These two came out of nowhere! I recently finished watching My Engineer and boy did these two left a mark on me or what. They're actually a side couple in the series but I guess their chemistry was just so palpable that they kind of took the spotlight from the main couple. Aside from having such great visuals, these two were quite impressive with their acting skills considering they're just newbies. Lay Talay has been a revelation. His character King was very entertaining to watch as he tries to wiggle his way into Perth Nakhun's character Ram's life. You see Ram doesn't talk much in this series so the burden of their interaction was mostly on King. I love how Lay gave justice to King's character, being both comical and sensible at the same time. These two are a force to be reckoned with. They will become big stars in the future given the right project and proper promotion. Oh and another reason why I like Lay is because he seems somewhat similar to GOT7's Youngjae. They look kind of the same and has the same aura - both are very cheerful persons.

So there you have it, my current favourite Thai BL couples. It's been fun writing about these guys and how they landed on my list. I never really get to talk to anyone else about this secret interest of mine and by writing it out for the world to see, I feel like I was able to have a fun little discussion with a friend of mine.

For now, thanks for reading up until this point. Let me know about your favourites as well. 💛

Blue Moon in Manila

How do I even begin this fan account? Yesterday was crazy. I was basically dragging my feet going home as I was too tired from the long day but it was all worth it. Finally seeing Jung Yong Hwa , Lee Jong Hyun , Kang Min Hyuk , and Lee Jung Shin of CNBLUE perform live in front of me is truly a dream come true. The concert was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM while gates open at 6:00 PM but I went to the venue early so I won’t have to worry about being stuck in traffic or something. I was there at around 3:00 in the afternoon and good thing the concert venue was next to shopping malls so I was just mindlessly strolling while waiting for the time. I lined up at around 4:00 PM and thankfully they opened the gates and let everyone in at exactly 6:00 PM, so I only need to stand in line for about 2 hours. Of course, it’s nothing compared to yesterday’s. While we were let into the building early, we had to wait again to enter the main coliseum where the concert will take place. It seems like

To My Star Has Seized My Universe

Hey everyone! How have you been? As for me, I have been busy with the mundane stuff but thankfully still have enough time to spend catching up on old and new BL shows alike. With how popular the Boys’ Love genre has come to be, it’s no surprise that entertainment companies have been steadily churning show after show for the fans to feast on. My watch list just keeps getting longer but I’m not complaining. Today, I’m going to talk about a Korean BL series that is very special to me: To My Star . This will be the first of a 2-part post on this series as I will be talking about seasons 1 & 2 separately. Please be warned that this will be an in-depth review of the show so there will be spoilers not to mention it will be a lengthy post. Let’s start. The Plot To My Star is a South Korean Boys’ Love (KBL) web drama directed by Hwang Da Seul and starring actors Son Woo Hyeon and Kim Kang Min . Season 1 began airing on the 22nd of  January 2021 and had a total of 9 episodes with a durat
